the invisible man
(intro)

dear reader…

it has come to my attention
that this story is evoking strong
responses and equally strong reactions
from its readers...

there are those
who can see it for what it is
write away and are tickled by the idea…

then…

there are those
who are angered by
the pages and the language
and it has become perfectly clear
to me that some people do like having
their myths played with!!!

it is important for me to tell you
that it is my hope and my desire that
you do naught get too wrapped up in the story…

or… too caught up in the trappings…

this is a story of conceptual fields…

it is the story of the metaphoric field of the imagination…

and… it is only a story…

if you are looking too hard
at the story you might miss the myth…

let me explain a little…

the metaphoric field of the imagination
is what some of the mystics and sages over time
have “dubbed” the unknowable… the unspeakable… the indescribable…

the invisible…

and this is true…

writefully sow…

however…

even though all these things are true
there is still a way to dress up the invisible
sow that one might get a glimpse… so that one might
have the opportunity to be that peeping tom sitting in the tree
waiting for that present moment to expose itself in all of its glory…

naked and unadulterated…

imagine if you will
an invisible man standing next to me…

you can naught see him because he is invisible…

yet…

if i put a hat on him
maybe a pair of sunglasses
a shirt… some pants… some shoes…

perhaps a watch or even a pair of gloves…

you will begin to get an “idea” of what this invisible man looks like…

and this is also what i am doing with the story…

i am dressing up the “invisible”…

i am wrapping a story around a myth…

i am trapping a rumor with words…

sow again…

do naught… do naught
get too wrapped up in the story…

do naught… do naught
get too caught up in the trappings…

this is naught what i am pointing to…

when i “dress up” the invisible man
it is naught the clothes i am pointing too…

it is naught the hat and shirt and the shoes i am pointing to…

i am pointing to what is naught there…

and… naught only that…

i could have dressed up that invisible man
in a myriad of different ways… i could have
put on a baseball cap… or a cowboy hat… or a beret…

i could have put him in long pants… shorts… or even a speedo!!!

and the same applies to the story…

i could have written it
in a myriad of different ways…

i could have easily changed the wrappings
easily have rearranged the trappings…

yet…

i would still be pointing to the same thing…

i would still be pointing to what is naught there…
